Alvin Monroe Hamilton

Funeral services for Alvin Monroe Hamilton of Wesson are 10 a.m. on Saturday, Feb. 15, at Springhill Pentecostal Church with burial in the church cemetery. Brookhaven Funeral Home, 894 Natchez Drive, is in charge of arrangements.

Visitation is Friday from 5 until 8 p.m. at the church.

Mr. Hamilton, 85, died Feb. 13, 2014, at Pine Crest Nursing Home in Hazlehurst. He was born on Feb. 23, 1928, to the late Ben Tom Hamilton and Ollie Maye Hamilton Hamilton.

He was retired from work with Copiah County and was a member of Springhill Pentecostal Church.

Preceding him in death were his parents; his wife, Lela Faye Thornhill Hamilton; one son, Gary Hamilton; his sister, Vera Haley; and his granddaughter, Connie Rae Hamilton.

He is survived by four sons, Randy Hamilton and wife, Martha, of Magee, Mike Hamilton and wife, Mary; Dewayne Hamilton and wife, Lorece, both of Wesson, and Bennie Ray Hamilton of Summit; three daughters, Glenda Roberts and husband, C.W., of Brookhaven, Lesa Williams and husband, Leon, and Yvonne Cupstid, all of Wesson; 15 grandchildren; and 18 great-grandchildren.
