Funeral services for Patrick Owen Mathes of Terry are 2 p.m., Thursday, Jan. 2, at Riverwood Family Family Funeral Service Chapel with interment at

Riverwood Memorial Park.

Visitation was Wednesday from 5 until 8 p.m. and on Thursday from noon until 2 p.m. at the funeral home.

Mr. Mathes, 63, died on Dec. 30, 2013, at Hospice Ministries in Ridgeland.

He was born in Monroe, La., on June 29, 1950, to Charles Owen Mathes and Margaret J. Sandlin Mathes

He worked as a senior directional driller for Ryan Directional Drilling.

He was also a member of the Lakeshore Congressional Methodist Church.

His family considered him a loving husband, father and grandfather.

He was preceded in death by his father.

He is survived by his wife, Rema Mathes; his mother, Margaret Mathes; sons, Rick Barker, Charles Iain Mathes and wife, Heather, and Josh Kainz and wife Lisa; and daughter, Monika Kainz Alford and husband, Richard. He is also survived by a sister, Susan Jane Mathes May and husband, David; eight grandchildren and two great-grandchildren, Lauren Mathes, Christopher Mathes, Hannah Mathes, Braxton Alford, Zoey Alford, Seth Barker, Elizabeth Allen and Jessica Allen; a nephew, Charles David; and a niece, Heather Jane.
