Brookhaven Academy recorded a 4-1 victory against Central Private in soccer action Tuesday night.

The win improved BA’s record to 2-1 and 1-1 in district.

Brookhaven controlled the game and kept the ball on Central Private’s end most of the first half and led 3-0 at intermission.

BA was led by Grant Melancon with two goals. Zach Carr contributed with a goal and an assist. Trent Nettles also scored a goal and Parker Myrick had an assist.

BA’s defense records their second shutout of the year. The Cougars were led by goalkeeper Lamar Lang, Jordan Lea, Newt Riley, Cody Thornhill, Trent Cannon and Zach Dickerson.

In JV action: BA captured a 5-1 victory. Conner Griffin led the way with two goals and an assist. Carson Rounsaville, Harpreet Singh and John Merritt Howard scored the other goals.

Brookhaven Academy hits the road today for a district game against Laurel Christian.
