Funeral services for Charles Maxin Thompson of Pineville, La. are 11 a.m. on Friday, Aug. 9, at Ebenezer A.M.E. Church, with burial in the church cemetery. Williams Mortuary is in charge of arrangements.
Visitation is Thursday from 1 until 6 p.m. at the funeral home.
Mr. Thompson, 66, died Aug. 2, 2013 at M.D. Anderson Cancer Center in Houston. He was born in Brookhaven on Aug. 1, 1947 to George Thompson Sr. and Mazie Newton Thompson.
He was a 1966 graduate of Alexander High School and retired after 25 years in the U.S. Army, having earned the rank of First Sergeant. He was then employed as a computer specialist.
Preceding him in death were his parents; brothers, George Thompson Jr. and Harold Thompson; and sisters, Patricia Locke and Helen Thompson.
Survivors are his wife, Audrey M. Thompson; daughters, Andrea Krishnon Moss and husband, Richard, of Perth, Australia, Erika Thompson of Augusta, Ga. and Felicia Thompson of London, England; brother, Edler Thompson and wife, Diane, of Brookhaven; sisters, Blanche Cason of Brookhaven, Mamie Banks of Brookhaven and Mary Lynn Watson and husband, Wilfort, of Brookhaven; brothers-in-law, Edward Williams of Bangalore, India and Henry Locke of Jackson; sister-in-law, Yvonne Williams of Calcutta, India; and many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
