Funeral services for Gwendolyn Joyce Hinson Cavin of Wesson are 2 p.m. on Tuesday, July 16, at Riverwood Family Funeral Service, with burial in Wesson Cemetery.

Visitation is Tuesday from noon until 2 p.m. at the funeral home.

Mrs. Cavin, 71, died July 14, 2013 at her home after a lengthy battle with cancer. She was born in Meridian on Feb. 9, 1942 to Clinton Hinson and Minnie Blackwell Hinson.

She attended Natchez High School and Copiah-Lincoln Community College. She was employed as a teller at the Bank of Wesson and was a secretary and bookkeeper at Wesson Attendance Center for 27 years until her retirement in 2004.

Preceding her in death were her husband of 51 years, Herman Cavin; parents; and brothers, Johnny Hinson and Larry Hinson.

Survivors are her daughter, Lea Ann Knight and husband, Phillip, of Wesson; granddaughter, Whitney Knight; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Roger and Betty Smith of Natchez; and sister-in-law, Sharon Hinson of Waterproof, La.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Make a Wish Foundation of Mississippi and/or the Copiah-Lincoln Community College Foundation.
