GAUTIER – Steve Wilson of Ocean Springs shot a 5-under par 67 in Saturday’s third round of the Mississippi State Amateur Championship at the Grand Bear Golf Course. It gave him a 3-round total of 70-71-67-208 and a 1-stroke lead over Eddie Brescher III of Canton who has a 3-round total of 68-68-72-209.

     Nick Beal of Pass Christian is in third place and 4 strokes off the lead with a 3-round total of 70-70-72-212. Josh Lampley of Gulfport and Lane Pippin of Ocean Springs were tied for fourth at minus-3.

     Will Lee of Brookhaven (Loyd Star) was 12 strokes over par after shooting rounds of 78-78-74.

     Jacob Ross of Brookhaven and Corbin May of Saltillo failed to make the cut.
