Franklin Co. rally sinks Tylertown

BUDE – Led by some big hits from junior Derrick Brumfield, the Franklin County Bulldogs collected an 8-7 win over Tylertown in the FCHS Tournament.

The Bulldogs (2-1) will resume play Monday, March 11, at Adams Christian School. Game time has been set for 7.

Tylertown held a 4-2 lead in the second inning and had control of the game before the Bulldogs rallied in the bottom half of the seventh.

Paced by a double from Brumfield, the Bulldogs tied the game at 7-all when Bryce White reached home plate on a Tylertown error.

FC shortstop Hoby Mullins provided the winning run on a passed ball, as he touched home plate to give the Bulldogs the dramatic win.

Brumfield led all hitters with a double and a single. Ethan Verdin, Trey Bailey, and Bernard Selmon added a RBI singles.

On the mound, Brumfield collected the win in relief of starting pitcher Kade Clanton.
