The Bears (20-2, 4-0) expanded a 26-25 halftime lead by outscoring the Tornadoes 21-13 in third quarter. London’s 9 rebounds directed the boardwork, followed by Case with 8 and Darrius Clark with 5. Clark also had 3 assists and Case made 3 steals.

West Lincoln senior forward Lucas Burris was in early foul trouble but London did an exceptional job in relief.

“Tamarcus did a great job coming off the bench when Lucas got in early foul trouble,” said West Lincoln coach Lane Young. “We didn’t play great but we kept the pressure on Piney Woods and held on at the end.

“This was a great win for us because Piney Woods is extremely hard to beat at their place,” Young noted.

Piney Woods, placed on a 3-year probation by the Mississippi High School Activities Association, for using ineligible players, is banned from the state playoffs and ineligible for the region title. The Tornadoes were led by 6-8 senior post Dwight Coleby’s 14 points. Coleby is an Ole Miss signee.
