Funeral services for Robert “Buck” Smith, of Brookhaven, are 2 p.m. on Saturday, Aug. 11, at Siloam M.B. Church, with burial in the church cemetery. R.E. Tyler Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Visitation is Friday from 1 until 6 p.m. at the funeral home.
Mr. Smith, 79, died Aug. 8, 2012, at his home. He was born in Lincoln County on May 1, 1933, to Bill and Estella Jean Pierre Smith.
He was a retired logger and a member of Siloam M.B. Church.
Preceding him in death were his parents; wife, Lula Mae Bowman Smith; sons, Albert Lee Smith and Tracy Smith; daughter, Ommie Lee Smith; brothers, Clate Smith, Richard Smith, Albert Smith, Italy Smith and Theopolis Smith; and sisters, Alberta Brown, Mary Smith and Hattie Smith.
Survivors are his sons, Michael Curtis Smith and wife, Priscilla, of Mobile, Ala., Billy Ray Smith and wife, Thelma, of Lithonia, Ga., Clifton Smith and wife, Gloria, of Brookhaven, Jerry Smith and wife, Alice, of Summit, and Calvin Smith and wife, Lena, of Brookhaven; daughters, Lucille Rankins, of Mobile, Ala., Catherine Coleman and husband, Thomas, of Brookhaven, and Brenda May, of Mobile, Ala.; sister, Edna Woods, of Brookhaven; 20 grandchildren; devoted friend, Maggie Washington, of Brookhaven; and a host of great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.
