Memorial services for Shirley Ann Russell, of Brookhaven, are 2 p.m. on Saturday, March 31, at Riverwood Family Funeral Service.

     Visitation is Saturday from 12:30 until 2 p.m. at the funeral home.

     Mrs. Russell, 69, passed away at her home on March 22, 2012.

     After graduating from Loyd Star High School, Shirley devoted her life to her children. A single mother for many years, she raised four daughters who never had to go without. For 18 years she lived with her daughter Kimberly and helped raise her first grandchild, Brandon. She was ever-present in the lives of her grandchildren, who always knew her as “Nanny.” She was truly loved and will be dearly missed.

     Preceding her in death were her mother, Hilda Ray Newell; father, Luther “LC” Smith; and daughter, Kimberly Russell.

     Survivors are her daughters, Charlotte Allen and husband, Robert, of Ormond Beach, Fla., Amy Smith and husband, Rudy, of Brookhaven, and Leah Bridges and husband, David, of Tupelo; and grandchildren, Brandon Russell, of Cambridge, Mass., Zachary Bridges, Jacob Bridges and Isabelle Bridges, of Tupelo, and Gage Reeves, of Brookhaven.
