Tenn. murder suspect found in Lincoln County

A man apprehended Thursday in LincolnCounty is on his way back to Tennessee to face first-degree murderand aggravated assault charges in the 2010 death of a 9-month-oldgirl, authorities said.
Lincoln County Sheriff Steve Rushing said Randall Thomas Beaty, 27,was picked up Friday morning by Tennessee authorities.
Beaty, who was located at a relative’s residence on Elbert Lane,was arrested Thursday morning by U.S. Marshal’s Service officialsand local authorities. Rushing said he did not know how long Beatyhad been in the Lincoln County area.
Rushing said the marshal’s service contacted his office earlierthis week about the search for Beaty.
“We helped them locate the roads and addresses,” Rushing said.”They already had some information on where he might be.”
According to The Tennessean newspaper, Beaty was indicted earlierthis month in the October 2010 death of Shayla Peveler inHendersonville, Tenn. Beaty was the boyfriend of the girl’s mother,Amber Peveler.
The newspaper reported autopsy findings showing that the baby diedfrom blunt-force injuries to the head on Oct. 31, 2010, atVanderbilt Children’s Hospital.
Amber Peveler is a codefendant in the case and has been chargedwith aggravated child neglect, the newspaper said.
