The undefeated Loyd Star Hornets cruisedpast the Bogue Chitto Bobcats 48-26 Thursday night in junior highbasketball action at R.L. “Bob” Calhoun Gymnasium, led by BradJasper’s 14 points. Levi Redd scored 9 points and Javion Beardadded 6 as the Hornets climbed to 15-0 on the season.

    The Bobcats were led by Jordan Bullock and Henry Thomas with 8points apiece. 

    The Lady Hornets (14-1) beat the Lady Cats 43-31, sparked by JordanShelby with 18 points and Ali Gartman with 7. Julie Smith and ToniBanks had 5 apiece.

    Bogue Chitto was led by Christian Black’s 19 points. ZariahMatthews added 6 points.

    In seventh grade girls’ action, the Lady Hornets (2-1) stung theLady Cats 10-1 as Makenzie Smith pumped in 4 points to lead LoydStar. Kaylia Smith and Taryn Humphreys contributed 2 pointsapiece.

    Jayla Black was the only scorer for Bogue Chitto with 1 point.

    The junior high conference tournament begins Monday at Loyd Star.The Hornets and Lady Hornets have received a bye for the firstround. Loyd Star resumes action Wednesday as the girls’ tipoff at 4p.m., followed by the boys.
