Man dies from injuries in fire at trailer home

A Brookhaven man has died due to injuries sustained in atrailer home fire nearly two months ago.
Mikell Hall, 22, of Brookhaven, was pronounced dead at 7:59 p.m.Friday at the University of South Alabama Burn Center in Mobile,Ala., said Joe Portrey, Hall’s uncle.
Hall’s death comes after his initial survival of an Oct. 6 firethat consumed the trailer home he was living in at the time. Hallspent the next two months in the USA Burn Center.
“He fought a long time, but he couldn’t fight off the infection,”Portrey said.
Stringer Family Funeral Services in Hazlehurst is in charges ofarrangements. As of Saturday, services are incomplete.
Lincoln County Coroner Clay McMorris said he had not been contactedby Alabama authorities concerning Hall’s death as of Saturday.
At the time of the fire, Hall was alone and authorities reported noother persons sustained injuries.
The fire at Hall’s trailer was reported to the Brookhaven FireDepartment at 3:02 a.m. Oct. 6. Extinguishing the fire required allBFD units, which remained on scene until 6:30 a.m. that day,according to BFD officials.
Hall’s trailer was located in a field behind the Servpro located at454 Old Wesson Road, authorities said.
