Funeral services for Ellowene Wallace Monroe, of Brookhaven, are2 p.m. on Sunday, May 22, at Riverwood Family Funeral ServiceChapel with burial in Riverwood Memorial Park.
Visitation was Saturday from 5 until 8 p.m. at the funeralhome.
Mrs. Monroe, 88, died May 18, 2011, at Countrybrook Living Center.She was born in Meridian, La., on Nov. 23, 1922, to Henry ConleyWallace and Rosa Lee Rutland Wallace.
She was a homemaker and worked for over 20 years as the bookkeeperfor the H.J. Ross Engineering Firm in their Miami, Fla., andHuntsville, Ala., offices. She was of the Baptist faith.
Preceding her in death were her parents; her brother, ClaudellWallace; and her sister, Golda Mae Hux.
Survivors are her son, Charles Alan Monroe; her daughter, SandraMonroe Assink and husband, Terence; her grandchildren, EleanorMonroe, Michael Assink and William Assink; and hergreat-grandchildren, Isaac Assink and Catherine Assink.
