Ronnie Manton, age 65, of Cumming, Ga., passed away Sunday, Feb.13, 2011.

Mr. Manton was born in Columbia, Miss., on May 22, 1945.

He was an active member of Pleasant Grove United Methodist Church.Ronnie was an All-State football player in Mississippi forBrookhaven High School and he received a full ride and athleticscholarship from Louisiana State University (1963-1968). He playedin the Babe Ruth World Series. Ronnie was an avid golfer, outdoorshunter and had worked all his life in the oil industry, retiring asregional vice president with BP Oil.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Cecil and Dot Manton;brother-in-law, Marvin Lowery; and grandparents, Henry and VernonManton, and Alton and Velma Brinson.

Survivors include his wife, Terra Wallace Manton of Cumming; hischildren, Blake and Jennifer Manton of Norcross, Ga., and Brinsonand Rachael Manton of Buford, Ga.; his sister, Beverly Lowery;sister and brother-in-law Dinah and Kenneth Wallace; hisgrandchildren, Mary Grace, Davis and Shelton Manton; and a numberof nieces, nephews and other relatives.

Memorial services will be held on Wednesday, Feb. 16, 2011, at11:30 a.m. at Ingram Funeral Home Chapel in Cumming, with the Rev.David Tinsley officiating.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Tuesday,Feb. 15, from 5 until 8 p.m., and on Wednesday from 10:30 a.m.until the hour of the service.
