BA rolls past Bowling Green

The Brookhaven Academy Lady Cougars (14-2, 3-0) remained perfectin District 4-AA action with a 49-33 win over the Bowling GreenLady Bucs Tuesday night in John R. Gray Gymnasium.
In the boys’ game, the Cougars (8-5, 3-0) managed to get back onthe winning track with a 64-44 victory over the Buccaneers.
The Cougars and Lady Cougars will continue district play Friday,hosting the Columbia Academy Cougars. Tipoff is 6 p.m. for thegirls’ game, followed by the boys.
BA 49, B. Green 33
Junior guard Terah Winborne pumped in 14 points and collected 3steals and 3 assists to lead the Lady Cougars. Senior center AnnaKatelyn Mangold chipped in with 10 points and grabbed 9rebounds.
Caroline Haik was the top scorer for the Lady Bucs with 16 points.Bowling Green trailed 21-19 at halftime.
BA 64, B. Green 44
Junior forward Brock Smith knocked down a game-high 28 points andgrabbed 7 rebounds to lead the Cougars. Gage Posey and SidneyChaffin contributed 12 points apiece. Chaffin was the leader on theboards with 10 rebounds. Posey collected 9 rebounds.
Buster Brown was the leader for the Bucs with 12 points. AustinKnight added 10 points.
In jr. high girls action, Bowling Green edged the BA Lady Cougars38-37. Ashley Foret pumped in 16 points for the Lady Bucs.
The Lady Cougars (8-3, 2-1) were led by Madison Warren with 13points. Destiny Allen had 9 points. Anna Carollo and Marlee Wattsscored 6 apiece.
