A one-vehicle accident shortly after midnight Thursday morningclaimed the life of a 5-month-old girl and also injured herparents, authorities said.

Isabella Myers, 5 months, was killed in the accident thathappened at 1241 Heuck’s Retreat Road around 12:45 a.m. Thursday.Lincoln County Coroner Clay McMorris said the infant died at thescene.

Authorities said the Jaws of Life were needed to free Myers’parents, Jessica Myers, 24; Brandon Ferrell, 29, of 1323 Heuck’sRetreat Road, from the 2003 GMC pickup that was driven byFerrell.

“The vehicle had hit a light pole and had flipped over,” saidNolan Jones, Brookhaven assistant police chief. “We don’t know howmany times the truck flipped over at this time.”

McMorris said Jessica Myers and Ferrell were transported toKing’s Daughters Medical Center and then flown to UniversityMedical Center. Information on their conditions at UMC was notavailable.

Funeral arrangements for the infant Myers are incomplete.
