West Lincoln roars past Prentiss

BOGUE CHITTO – Guard Jay Case pumped in a game-high 33 pointsand the unbeaten West Lincoln Bears roared to an 87-80 Saturdayvictory over the Prentiss Bulldogs in the Bogue ChittoTournament.
In the varsity girls game, Karli Herrington’s 13 points directedthe Lady Bears to a 44-27 win against Prentiss in R.L. “Bob”Calhoun Gymnasium.
West Lincoln hosts Loyd Star Nov. 30.
The Bears (7-0) carried a 76-42 lead into the fourth quarter. Onthe backboards, Lucas Burris scored 13 points and grabbed 8rebounds. Calvin Kees also netted 13 points. Darius Clark had 6rebounds. Jay Case made 4 steals.
“Our subs did a poor job of keeping the lead,” said West Lincolncoach Lane Young.
The Bulldogs got 26 points from Monterrio Hooker.
The Lady Bears (3-4) got 6 rebounds apiece from Katie Hester andHerrington. Katie Mullins made 3 steals.
