Lady Cobras get first win; boys fall to St. Andrew’s

RIDGELAND — The Wesson Lady Cobras picked up their firstvictory of the season with a 42-29 win over the St. Andrew’sEpiscopal Lady Saints Thursday night.
In the boys’ game, the St. Andrew’s Saints edged the Wesson Cobras49-41.
Wesson return to action Saturday, hosting the Dexter Bulldogs. Tipoff begins at 5 p.m., followed by the boys.

Madison Rials pumped in a game-high 21 points to lead the LadyCobras. She also collected 4 rebounds and 3 assists. Elsie Millerprovided 14 points. Maura Smith led the boards with 12rebounds.
“Glad to get the win,” said Wesson coach Rusti Magee. “Our girlsplayed really hard.”
Thea’ Meyers was the leading scorer for the Lady Saints with 12points. Claudia Brunsor contributed 9 points.
St. Andrew’s 49, Wesson 41
Gib Britt led the Cobras in scoring with 8 points. Jy-MetriusSutton, James Clay, Hunter Hood and Terry Brown contributed 6points apiece.
Reeve Jacobus pumped in a game-high 15 points to lead the St.Andrew’s. Dallas Parter provided 10 points.
