BASSFIELD — The Wesson Cobras were hosted by the BassfieldYellow Jackets in the second round of 2A playoffs.
The defending 2A state champions proved to still be a tough teamand a force to be reckoned with as they beat Wesson 46-0 on Fridaynight. Bassfield was very sound on both offensive and defensiveside of the ball and was able to control the whole game.
Wesson will finish the year at 10-2, the best record under CoachTommy Clopton’s tenure in Wesson.
“I thought our team played very hard against a very good Bassfieldteam,” Clopton said after the game. “It obviously didn’t end theway we wanted it to, but our kids have worked hard all year and tofinish 10-2 is still quite an accomplishment for them.”
Bassfield will play top ranked Taylorsville this week.
