Frances Bessonette, 79, went home to be with her Lord and SaviorJesus Christ on Aug. 8, 2010, at Mississippi Baptist Medical Centerin Jackson.

Mrs. Bessonette was born in Kilgore, Texas, on June 18, 1931, toThomas Cade Elkins and Eula S. Elkins.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Clayton”Rudy” Bessonette; and two brothers.

Survivors include her daughter, Karen Holcomb and husband, TommyHolcomb; her sons, Thomas Earle Bessonette and wife, Linda W.Bessonnette, and Ernest R. Bessonette and wife, Patty K.Bessonette; her sisters, Betty Carter, Shirley McClintock and LoisLightsey; her brother, Tommy Elkins; seven grandchildren; and 18great-grandchildren.

Mrs. Bessonette followed in her husband’s footsteps and donated herbody to the University of Mississippi Medical Center for medicalscience. There will be no funeral but a memorial service will beheld at 2 p.m. on Friday, Aug. 27, at New Prospect Baptist Churchin Lincoln County, where she was a member.
