Funeral services for Monteel Lowery Stuard, of Brookhaven, are 2p.m. on Tuesday, July 6, at Brookhaven Funeral Home Chapel onNatchez Drive, with burial in Riverwood Memorial Park.
Visitation was Monday from 5 until 9 p.m. at the funeralhome.
Mrs. Stuard, 89, died July 4, 2010, at her residence. She was bornin Wesson on July 26, 1920, to Thomas Franklin Lowery and MinervaSmith Lowery.
She was a homemaker and former substitute teacher. She was a memberof First Baptist Church in Brookhaven. She was also a member of theEastern Star and was very involved with her church and withBrookhaven Academy.
Preceding her in death were her parents; her brothers, Clyde,Frank, Claude, Arthur P., Lawrence “Buddy”, Robert, Carl, John andGeorge Burnell Lowery; and her sisters, Irene Smith and CarrieLowery.
Survivors are her husband of 66 years, Robert M. “Red” Stuard, ofBrookhaven; her daughters and their husbands, Elaine and GeorgeBrewer, Judith and Ken Coghlan, Jane and Daryl James, Janice andSteve Holmes, and Susan and Rick Dunaway, all of Brookhaven; hergrandchildren, Michael Brewer, Whitney Rutter and husband Chris,Georgia Brewer, Jeannie Smith and husband Mike, Lacey Laird andhusband Justin, Lindsey Porter and husband Jared, Ashley Jacksonand husband Robbie, Rikki Dunaway and Cody Dunaway; 12great-grandchildren; a very special niece, Geraldine Babin, ofBaton Rouge, La.; and numerous nieces, nephews and otherrelatives.
Pallbearers are Michael Brewer, Justin Laird, Robbie Jackson, CodyDunaway, Jared Porter and Chris Rutter.
Honorary pallbearers are Mike Lowery, Tim Lowery, Claude Lowery,Mark Stephens, Greg Laurent, Fred Lowery, Adrian “Bo” Lowery, JohnMitchell Lowery, Ronald Babin, Mike King, Larry Laurent and MikeSmith.
