Services for William Sedley Rayborn, of Jayess, are 2 p.m.Sunday, March 21, at Jayess Baptist Church with burial in thechurch cemetery. Wilson Funeral Home is in charge ofarrangements.
Mr. Rayborn, 86, died March 18, 2010, at his residence. He was bornin Lawrence County on Nov. 2, 1923, to Emmett Clyde Rayborn andWilmer Lee Cothern Rayborn.
He was a high school graduate and a retired letter carrier for theU.S. Postal Service. He was a member of Jayess Baptist Church,where he served as a deacon. He was a U.S. Army veteran of WorldWar II, a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars, and a pasttrustee of Lawrence County Hospital.
Preceding him in death were his parents; his wife, Edith Alicia DayRayborn; and his daughter, Suzonne Rutland.
Survivors are his sons, Dickie Rayborn and wife, Gloria, ofBrookhaven, and Dr. Tim Rayborn and wife, Jean, of Gallatin, Tenn.;his daughters, Kay Garalyn, of Jayess, and Tanya Rutland andhusband, Ron, of Dover, Del.; his son-in-law, Don Rutland, ofJayess; his brother, Doyle Rayborn and wife, Barbara, of Jayess;his special family members, Nancy Rayborn, of Whitehouse, Tenn.,and Holden and Lanie Miller, of Jayess; his grandchildren, RichardRayborn and wife, Nicolie, Rhonda Boggs and husband, Larry, RussellRutland, Robert Rutland and wife, Elizabeth, Ryan Rayborn and wife,Jessica, Brett Rutland, Meghan Prim and husband, Matthew, and RikkiCrutcher and husband, Thomas; four great-grandchildren; threestep-grandchildren; 10 step-great-grandchildren; and numerousnieces and nephews.
