Services for Louis D. “L.D.” Jones Sr., of Brookhaven, are 11a.m. Thursday, Dec. 10, at St. Paul M.B. Church in Brookhaven withburial in Mt. Zion M.B. Church Cemetery in Bogue Chitto.

Visitation is Wednesday from noon until 7 p.m. at R.E. TylerFuneral Home with family present from 6 until 7 p.m.

Mr. Jones, 55, died Dec. 5, 2009, at McComb Nursing andRehabilitation Center in McComb. He was born in Chicago, Ill., onMay 1, 1954, to Ellis Jones and Dorothy Byrd.

He was a former machine operator at Graphic Packing in Clinton.Mr. Jones served in the U.S. Air Force. He was a member ofMacedonia Methodist Church in Brookhaven.

Preceding him in death was a sister, Melodie Jones.

Survivors are his father, Ellis Jones, of Summit; his mother,Dorothy Byrd, of Brookhaven; his wife, Mable Fairman Jones, ofBrookhaven; a son, Louis Jones Jr., of Milwaukee, Wis.; a daughter,Nydra Jones Lewis, of Brookhaven; his brothers, Richard Jones, ofColumbia, S.C., Martin Jones, of Washington, D.C., Daniel Jones, ofBaton Rouge, La., and Vincent Jones, of Summit; his sisters,Deborah Smith, of Wesson, Alberta Johnson, of Forestville, Md.,Kimberly Williams, of Summit, and Angelia Patterson, of McComb; andhis four grandchildren.
