Services for Ellisteen Davis, of Brookhaven, are 2 p.m. Sunday,Nov. 1, at Mt. Gilead Primitive Baptist Church in Smithdale withburial in Ebenezer Methodist Church Cemetery. Brookhaven FuneralHome on Natchez Drive is in charge of arrangements.

Visitation is Sunday from 9 a.m. until noon at the funeral homeand from 1 p.m. until the time of the service at the church.

Mrs. Davis, 92, died Oct. 30, 2009, at her residence. She wasborn in Franklin County on Jan. 13, 1917, to Samuel Floyd Cowartand Ada Jane Laird Cowart McGehee.

She was retired seamstress from Kellwood Garment Factory inMcComb. She was a member of Mt. Gilead Primitive BaptistChurch.

Preceding her in death were her husband, Homer Davis; herparents; her son, Samuel David Davis; her daughter, Robbie DavisJackson; her son-in-law, Tom Jackson; her sisters, Delia Clark,Reta Mae Coward and Alice Dickerson; and her brother, EdgarCowart.

Survivors are her son, Melvin Davis, of Smithdale; herdaughters, Jane Heath, of Germantown, Tenn., Rita Cothern, ofBrookhaven and Patsy Cothren, of Smithdale; 10 grandchildren; 20great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandson.
