Memorial services for Jesse Magee Jr. are 2 p.m. Tuesday, Oct.13, at Community Funeral Services Chapel.

Visitation is Tuesday from 1 until 2 p.m. at the funeralhome.

Mr. Magee, 69, died Oct. 10, 2009, at his residence. He was bornin Bogue Chitto on Oct. 2, 1940, to Jesse Magee Sr. and Nellie CaseMagee.

He served in the U.S. Navy. He was of Baptist faith.

Preceding him in death were his parents; his wife, Carol Magee;and a son, Kenneth E. Magee.

Survivors are a son, Robert Magee, of New Waverly, Texas; adaughter, Sherri Magee, of Bogue Chitto; his brothers, Cecil Magee,Virgil Magee, both of Bogue Chitto, and Michael Magee, of Cary,N.C.; his sisters, Geneva Coghlan, of Brookhaven, Catherine Smithand Jenette Hughes, both of Bogue Chitto; his four grandchildren,Jessica Magee, of Bogue Chitto, Cody Magee, of Pearland, Texas,Travis Magee, of New Waverly, and Derrick Magee; and a host ofnieces and nephews.

Barney Lynwood Porter

Services for Barney Lynwood Porter were 9:30 a.m. Saturday, Oct.3, at Greenwood Funeral Home Chapel in Fort Worth, Texas, withburial in Greenwood Memorial Park.

Mr. Porter, 70, went to be with the Lord on Oct. 1, 2009, aftera long battle with ill health. He was born to Barney and KatiePorter, of Brookhaven.

Preceding him in death were his parents; a brother, Paul Porter;and his sisters, Pearl Ford and Raybelle Lofton.

Lyn was a dearly loved husband and best friend of Mary for 28years; a much loved father and father-in-law of Angelyn and SandyUllrich, Rachel Joan and Rick Davis and Brodie Joy; a grandfatherto Blake and Russ Davis; a brother to Geneva Bardwell, JackiePorter, Ellen Summers, Joann and Clyde Worrell, Pat and EloisePorter and Billy and Aline Porter.
