James C. ‘Jo Jo’ Spears

Services for James C. “Jo Jo” Spears, of Brookhaven, are 2 p.m.Wednesday, July 1, at Bethel United Methodist Church with burial inthe church cemetery.

Visitation is Tuesday from 6 until 9 p.m. at Brookhaven FuneralHome on Natchez Drive and Wednesday from 1 until 2 p.m. at thechurch.

Mr. Spears, 63, died June 28, 2009, at his residence after alengthy illness. He was born in Houston, Texas on Sept. 11, 1945,to H.T. Spears and Zula Grice Spears.

He was a West Lincoln High School graduate and a graduate ofElkins Institute in New Orleans, La. Mr. Spears was a retired radiobroadcaster working with WJPR in Greenville, WTYL in Tylertown andalso in McComb. He was a member of Bethel United MethodistChurch.

Preceding him in death were his parents.

Survivors are a daughter, Darlene Spears, of Waukesha, Wis.; asister, Susan Giddens, of Dallas, Texas; and two grandchildren.

Pallbearers are Carroll Lester Smith, Chris Smith, Joey Smith,Jackie Wilkinson, Eddie Morris, Bruce Prestridge and Randy BrucePrestridge.

Honorary pallbearers are Sherrill Wallace and Harold Lewis.
