Services for Kathryn “Katy” Rose Barras, of Brookhaven, are 2p.m. Sunday, May 24, at Riverwood Family Funeral Service withburial in Mt. Moriah Baptist Church Cemetery.

Miss Barras, 17, died May 21, 2009. She was born on April 8,1992, to Steven J. Barras and Karen Picard Smith.

She was a student at Loyd Star School and was employed at DairyQueen. She was a member of Mt. Moriah Baptist Church. She wasinvolved with soccer, Lincoln County 4-H and National Barrel HorseAssociation (NBHA) MS05.

Preceding her in death were her grandparents, Stephen and LenaBarras, of Lafayette, La., and Calvin Picard, of New Iberia,La.

Survivors are her parents, Steven J. Barras and wife, Christy,and Karen Picard Smith and husband, Jason; her brothers, StephenBarras and wife, Brooke, and son, Gabe, Scott Barras, Travis Barrasand son, Calvin, Keith Barras and wife, Marsha, and son, Kyle; herstepbrother, Landon Roberts; her sisters, Charleigh Barras andMaddison Smith; her grandmother, Mertice Picard, of Sulfur, La.;her grandparents, Freddie and Kathy Leonard, of Bogue Chitto; hergodparents, Cherie Sahr and Brian LeBlanc; and many aunts, unclesand cousins.
