Services for Edward Charles “E.C.” Byrd, of Brookhaven, are 2p.m. Friday, April 10, at New Vision Fellowship Hall in Brookhavenwith burial in Hillcrest Cemetery.
Visitation is Thursday from 1 until 7 p.m. at WilliamsMortuary.
Mr. Byrd, 53, died April 1, 2009, at Southwest MississippiRegional Medical Center in McComb. He was born in Lincoln County onFeb. 23, 1956, to Ossie Byrd and Ola Mae Byrd.
He was a retired from the City of Brookhaven. He was a member ofNew Vision Fellowship Hall, where he was a musician.
Preceding him in death were his parents; a stepmother, GloriaByrd; a son, Edward Charles Byrd Jr.; his sisters, GloriaWeathersby, Josephine Byrd and Wyline Byrd; and a daughter-in-law,Tobias Adams Byrd.
Survivors are his daughters, Misty Byrd, of Brookhaven, RuthPerkins and husband, Randy, of Bogue Chitto, Falicia Daigins, ofMonticello, Mya Boys, of Alabama, Aretha Adams and husband, Willie,of Jackson, Lamara Adams, of Brookhaven, and Alarice Adams, ofChicago, Ill.; his sons, Chalsey Byrd and wife, Tamara, LorenzoPowell and wife, Lavasis, all of Brookhaven, Stanford Powell andwife, Jennifer, of Indiana, Stacey Powell and wife, Gwen, ofMemphis, Tenn., Lilwalt Adams, of Brookhaven and Walter Adams, ofChicago; his sisters, Mary Henderson and husband, Edward, of theSiloam community, Ernestine Burks and husband, Glenn, of FranklinCounty, and Phyllis Peartree, of Brookhaven; his brothers, WayneCooper and wife, Mary, of Monticello, Corey Green, of California,and Guy Williams, of Brookhaven; a brother-in-law, Wayne Henry, ofBrookhaven; his uncles, M.C. Byrd and wife, Dorothy, and JamesColeman; his 40 grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews, and otherrelatives.
