A memorial service for William G. Fitzgerald, of Bogue Chitto,will be held at a later date. Brookhaven Funeral Home is in chargeof arrangements.

Mr. Fitzgerald, 79, died March 3, 2009, at his residence. He wasborn in John Day Valley, Ore., on Oct. 24, 1929, to AustinFitzgerald and Naomi Tichener Fitzgerald.

He retired from the U.S. Navy. He was a member of the MasonicLodge in San Diego, Calif. and the VFW. Mr. Fitzgerald also servedin the U.S. Navy Reserves.

Preceding him in death were his parents; a daughter, Ann LouiseHicks; and a brother, Walt Jewett.

Survivors are his wife, Olive Nash Fitzgerald, of Bogue Chitto;a son, William Fitzgerald Jr. and wife, Terri, of San Diego; adaughter, Kathleen Williams and husband, Vick, of Bogue Chitto; hissix grandchildren, Dustin Williams, of Amite, La., Dara Williams,of Monroe, La., Joe Fitzgerald, of Utah, Melissa Fitzgerald, AndreaFitzgerald and Vanessa Fitzgerald, all of San Diego; and agreat-grandchild, Mackenzie Ann Dubois, of Monroe.
