Carl Daughdrill Jr.
Services for Carl Daughdrill Jr., of Sontag, are 2 p.m.Thursday, Feb. 26, at Shiloh Baptist Church in Sontag with burialin the church cemetery. Wilson Funeral Home is in charge ofarrangements.
Mr. Daughdrill, 86, died Feb. 24, 2009, at his residence. He wasborn in Sontag on July 29, 1922, to Carl Henry Daughdrill andFrances Estell Smith.
He retired from Georgia Pacific. He was a member of ShilohBaptist Church.
Preceding him in death were his parents; a son, Robert CarrollDaughdrill; and a brother-in-law, Lamar Calhoun.
Survivors are his wife, Marilyn Jackson Daughdrill; a daughter,Jackie Pierce, of Sontag; a brother, Ben Daughdrill and wife, Ann;his sisters, Jalove “Shorty” Calhoun, of Jayess, and Gladys Smithand husband, Shelby, of Sontag; his brothers-in-law, Alvin Ashley,Bobby Ashley, both of Sontag, and Kenny Jackson, of Laurel; asister-in-law, Martha Jackson, of Laurel; and a grandson, PaytonPrice, of Sontag.
Geneva ‘Chocolate’ Nelson
Services for Geneva “Chocolate” Nelson, of Brookhaven, are 2p.m. Saturday, Feb. 28, at New Jerusalem Holiness Ministry inBrookhaven with burial in Hillcrest Cemetery.
Visitation is Friday from 1 until 6 p.m. at WilliamsMortuary.
Miss Nelson, 35, died Feb. 28, 2009, at Mississippi BaptistMedical Center in Jackson. She was born in Lincoln County on Dec.1, 1973, to Lucius Johnson and Mary L. Nelson.
She was a 1992 graduate of Eva H. Harris High School. She wasdisabled.
Preceding her in death were her father; and a sister, QueenEster Nelson.
Survivors are her mother, Mary L. Nelson, of Brookhaven; a son,Jarvis Nelson, of Brookhaven; her sisters, Mary Williams andhusband, Virgil, Lucille Mathis, Betty Nelson, Angela Richardsonand husband, Billy, Sandra McDaniel and husband, Matthew, FeliciaSmith and husband, Delvechio, all of Brookhaven; a special godniece, Okoya Barlow, of Brookhaven; and a host of aunts, uncles,nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
