Holton Leroy Alderman
Services for Holton Leroy Alderman, of Asheville, N.C., are 2p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 25, at Western Carolina State Veteran’sCemetery Chapel in Black Mountain, N.C., with burial in thecemetery.
Visitation is Tuesday from 7 until 8:30 p.m. at Groce FuneralHome in Asheville.
Mr. Alderman, 73, died Feb. 22, 2009, at Asheville VA MedicalCenter. He was born in Brookhaven on March 4, 1935, to Willie andEdna Case Alderman.
Preceding him in death were his parents; a daughter, ChristiAlderman; and a brother, Willie Harold Alderman.
Survivors are his wife, Janice McGee Alderman; a son, Casey LeeAlderman, of Asheville; his daughters, Julie Charity, of Ranger,Ga., and Trudi McDaniel, of North Ft. Myers, Fla.; a brother,Charles Alderman, of Meridian; his eight grandchildren; and his twogreat-grandchildren.
Robert C. ‘Bob’ Allen
Services for Robert C. “Bob” Allen, of Ruth, are 11 a.m.Wednesday, Feb. 25, at Brookhaven Funeral Home Chapel on NatchezDrive with burial in J.B. Russell Family Cemetery in Ruth.
Visitation is Tuesday from 5 until 9 p.m. at the funeralhome.
Mr. Allen, 64, died Feb. 21, 2009, at his residence. He was bornin Lincoln County on Nov. 2, 1944, to Robert O. Allen and YvoneAllgood Allen.
He was a master carpenter, husband, father and grandfather. Hewas of the Baptist faith.
Preceding him in death were his parents; and a sister, SusanAllen Crane.
Survivors are his wife, Dorothy Russell Allen, of Brookhaven; ason, Jason Gunnell and wife, Mauri, of Hattiesburg; his daughters,Bonnie Brady and husband, Jason, of Ruth, and Nova York andhusband, David, of Brookhaven; his six grandchildren, Ryan Bateman,Justin Bateman, Katelynn Brady, Koby Brady, Thomas Gunnell andRussell Paul Gunnell; a nephew, Jason Crane; his nieces, StephanieThornhill and Jennifer Reeves; a great niece; and his five greatnephews.
