Thomas Earl Allred

Thomas Earl Allred, 62, of Summit, died Feb. 11, 2009, at hishome surrounded by his family.
Visitation is Friday at Hartman-Sharkey Funeral Home in McCombfrom 5 until 8 p.m. and will continue Saturday from 9 until 11 a.m.when services will be held there with the Rev. Mike McKeeofficiating. Burial will be in the Montgomery Church Cemetery.
Thomas was born Oct. 17, 1946, in McComb on his father’sbirthday. He was the son of T. J. and Nell McKenzie Allred.
He graduated from Bogue Chitto Attendance Center and went on tobecome store manager of Winn-Dixie in McComb. He stayed with thatcompany for many years. In his later years, he was employed bySummit Plastics, which he spoke highly about because of how goodthey were to him during the stages of his illness. Thomas was amember of Montgomery Baptist Church. He found great comfort inattending services until his health would not allow him to attendanymore. He was the happiest when surrounded by his family andfriends; whether it was for a cookout at his home, fishing in hispond, at his son’s camp, or just hunting with his sons andgrandson. Thomas loved his family and there is a great sadness inour hearts because we loved him so much and will miss himgreatly.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his beloved wife,Barbara; and his brother, James Randall Allred.
He is survived by his sons and daughter-in-law, James EarlAllred, Michael Travis Allred and wife, Tammy, of Bogue Chitto, andThomas Neil Allred, of Summit; one daughter, Misty Ainsworth, ofFranklinton, La.; five grandchildren, Alan Michael Allred, of BogueChitto, Jasper Dean Allred, of McComb, Bree Smith, Kasey Smith andJacob Smith, all of Franklinton; two sisters and a brother-in-law,Jean Whittington and Patsy Johnson and husband, Bill, of Summit;two nieces and nephew-in-law, Amanda Slaughter and Melinda Carsonand husband, Billy, of Summit; one great-nephew, Zachery Thomas;and one great-niece, Gabriella Thomas, of Summit.
Pallbearers will be Alan Michael Allred, Bill Johnson, BillyCarson, Steve Winborne, Lamar Roberts and Aubrey Wallace.
