Services for Hollice S. Douglas, of Brookhaven, are 11 a.m.Tuesday, Jan. 27, at Riverwood Family Funeral Service Chapel withburial in Wellman Baptist Church Cemetery in Brookhaven.

Visitation is Monday from 5 until 8 p.m. at the funeralhome.

Mrs. Douglas, 96, died Jan. 24, 2009, at King’s DaughtersMedical Center in Brookhaven. She was born on Aug. 10, 1912, toRobert Leon Smith and Bertha Nortan Smith.

She was a homemaker and an avid quilter. She was a member ofWellman Baptist Church.

Preceding her in death were her parents; her husband, JewelDouglas; her grandsons, Tommy Smith, Danny Earl Smith, StanDouglas, Jewel Duane Douglas and Daniel Lofton.

Survivors are her sons, Bobby Douglas and wife, Barbara, RichardDouglas and wife, Bettye, and Connie M. Douglas and wife, Charlene,all of Brookhaven; her daughters, Irene Smith Meredith, ofBrookhaven, Libby Homes Jackson and husband, Carrol, of Madison,Betty Byrd and husband, Jerry, Reba Grace Roberts and husband,Glen, all of Brookhaven; a special adopted son, Charlie Wilson; abrother, Rudolph Smith, of Baton Rouge, La.; her sisters, PaulineBurns, of Bogue Chitto, and Alyeen Callander, of Hixon, Tenn.; her18 grandchildren; her 31 great-grandchildren; and her ninegreat-great-grandchildren.
