Mary Katheryn Simmons Magee, of McCall Creek, went to be withthe Lord on Friday, Nov. 21, 2008, at St. Dominic-Jackson MemorialHospital.
She was born on Feb. 4, 1934, in Calhoun County. She waspreceded in death by her parents, Stanley and Lucille Howell.
Services for Mrs. Magee will be Monday, Nov. 24, at 2 p.m. atRiverwood Family Funeral Service Chapel with burial in McCall CreekChurch of God Cemetery. Visitation will be at the funeral home onSunday, Nov. 23, from 5 until 9 p.m.
She was a faithful member of McCall Creek Church of God, whereshe served as secretary and clerk for 40 years. She worked inBrookhaven for many years as secretary and in sales for T.H.Perkins Furniture, John B. Perkins Furniture and PerkinsHardware.
She will be dearly missed by her family and friends that knewand loved her. She was a very devoted and loving mother,grandmother and great-grandmother.
She is survived by her loving and caring husband of 55 years,David L. Magee, of McCall Creek; her son and his wife, David Allenand Karen Magee, of McCall Creek; her daughters and their husbands,Mary and Billy Smith, of Brookhaven, Martha and Ronnie Noble, ofMcCall Creek, Jackie and Andrew Lowe, of Flowood, and Mitti andM.D. Bilbo, of Lucien; her brothers and sisters-in-law, Jerry andNancy Howell, of McCall Creek, Bill and Patsy Simmons, of Grenada;her sister and brother-in-law, Frankie and Donald Applewhite, ofMcCall Creek; her grandsons, Jason Magee, Preston Porter, JohnnyNoble, Jeffrey Thornton, Timmy Thornton, Clint Wilkinson and CaseyWilkinson; her stepgrandsons, Daniel and Matthew Lowe; hergranddaughters, Hope Case, Kristin Hanks, Ashley Auttonberry andJocie Magee; five great-granddaughters; eight great-grandsons; andher special caregiver and loving friend, Gloria Cameron, of McCallCreek.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to theMcCall Creek Church of God Building Fund.
