The Rev. William Lloyd Williams, 76, of Tucker, Ga., died Nov.8, 2008, of cancer at his home.
He is survived by his loving family; his wife, Jane; his twodaughters and sons-in-law, Margie and Randy Greer and Becky andBobby Harris; a stepson, William Robison Foster and wife, Sue; andhis grandchildren, Katie and Bryan Haynes, David and Daniel Harrisand Sarah and Matt Greer.
The Rev. Williams was born April 27, 1932, in Brookhaven. He was agraduate of Southwest Tennessee Community College in Memphis,Tenn., and Presbyterian Theological Seminary in Louisville, Ky.with Bachelor of Divinity and Master of Divinity degrees. He was afaithful Presbyterian, serving as pastor of several churches inIndiana. Most of his 25 years in the ministry were spent as pastorof the First Presbyterian Church in Greenwood, Ind.
The Rev. Williams loved woodworking and construction and, after hisretirement, started a small construction company in Atlanta, Ga. Heenjoyed building and making repairs for friends and neighbors. Hewas an avid golfer and enjoyed the associations and friends that hemade on the golf course. The Rev. Williams will be rememberedaffectionately for his strength, warmth, sense of humor andfaithfulness.
The funeral service will be held Wednesday, Nov. 12 at 11 a.m. atH. M. Patterson & Son, Oglethorpe Hill Chapel with the Rev. Dr.D. Scott Weimer, senior pastor of North Avenue Presbyterian Church,officiating. Family visitation will be at the funeral home Tuesdayfrom 6 to 8 p.m. Burial will take place following the service atFloral Hills Memory Gardens in Tucker.
