Services for John D. Richmond, of Brookhaven, are 1 p.m. Monday,Aug. 18, at Brookhaven Funeral Home Chapel on Natchez Drive withburial in Clear Branch Baptist Church Cemetery.

Visitation is Sunday from 5 until 9 p.m. and Monday from 9 a.m.until 1 p.m. at the funeral home.

Mr. Richmond, 93, died Aug. 16, 2008, at Lawrence County NursingHome. He was born in Mt. Herman, La., on Oct. 31, 1914, to GeorgeB. Richmond and Myra Elizabeth Ellzey.

He was a retired carpenter. He was a member of Clear BranchBaptist Church.

Preceding him in death were his parents and his wife, IrisRichmond.

Survivors are his daughter, Sylvia Smith and husband, Curtis, ofBrookhaven; his sons, John Richmond and wife, Catherine, ofMemphis, Tenn., and James Richmond and wife, Pat, of Prentiss; ninegrandchildren; six stepgrandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and14 stepgreat-grandchildren.
