Services for Melvin Edgar Jackson, of Natchez, are 11 a.m. onSunday, Aug. 10, at New Hope Baptist Church in Natchez with burialin the church cemetery. Marshall Funeral Home is in charge ofarrangements.

Visitation is Sunday from 9 a.m. until the time of the serviceat the church.

Mr. Jackson, 76, died Aug. 7, 2008, at Natchez CommunityHospital. He was born in Hazlehurst on June 19, 1932, to Edgar andMamie Priest Jackson.

Preceding him in death were his wife, Evelyn Perry Jackson; hisparents; his son, Melvin Eugene Jackson; and his daughter, EvelynJackson.

Survivors are his son, Melvin Louis Jackson and wife, Melissa;two grandchildren; two stepgrandchildren; two great-grandchildren;his sister, Doris Dodge; his brothers, Carl Jackson and wife, Jane,Alton Jackson, and William Jackson and wife, Terry; and manynieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
