Truvillion’s triple-double leads Co-Lin past S’west

WESSON — Greg Truvillion recorded a triple-double Monday night,leading the Co-Lin Wolves to an 86-67 win against archrivalSouthwest Mississippi Community College. Truvillion, a 6-foot-8sophomore from Lansing, Mich., accounted for 14 points, 18 assistsand 10 rebounds in the South Division win.
Truvillion was 1 of 5 Co-Lin starters in double digits asfreshman guard Trent Hutchin scored a game-high 23 points, CoreyLondon 18, Anthony Wilcher 15 and Julius Blanks 10.
Co-Lin hiked its division-leading record to 8-1. The Wolves are14-5 overall. Southwest, coached by Bill Wallace, fell to 2-7 and6-13.
“We played better defense tonight against Southwest and we hitour shots,” said Hutchin, a 6-foot guard from Baton Rouge. Hesacked 5 of 10 field goals from 3-point range.
It was an offensive show for the Wolfpack as they shot 58.9percent from the field and made 83 percent of their freethrows.
“Truvillion had a good game with a triple-double,” said Co-Linmen’s coach Dennis Sims. “He manages to get everyone involved.
“We are shooting very well from the free throw line,” Simsnoted. “It was a nice win for us, especially at home againstSouthwest.”
Co-Lin rebounded from last Thursday night’s loss at Pearl River.Blanks had 5 rebounds in the victory.
The Wolves, leading by a narrow 39-37 halftime margin, outscoredSouthwest 47-30 in the second half.
The Bears got 19 points and 6 rebounds from Aubrey Coleman, a6-4 freshman guard from Houston, Texas. Terencio Powell, a 6-4sophomore guard from Terry, added 13 points..
