Services for Novanna Sartin Scott, of Caseyville, are 3 p.m.Saturday, Dec. 1, at Zion Chapel A.M.E. Church in Caseyville withburial in the Scott Family Cemetery in Caseyville.
Visitation will be from 1 until 6 p.m. with family hour from 6until 7 p.m. Friday at Williams Mortuary.
Mrs. Scott, 82, died Nov. 26, 2007, at her residence. She wasborn Dec. 14, 1924, in Caseyville to Johnson Sartin and MarySartin.
She was a graduate of Alexander High School and attended JacksonState College. She graduated from Alcorn State College. She was ateacher and retired after 30 years of service with the LincolnCounty Public Schools. She taught at Lincoln County TrainingSchool, Progress High School, Eva Harris High School and retiredfrom Loyd Star High School. She was a member of Zion Chapel A.M.E.Church where she served as a class leader, Sunday school teacher,choir member and church secretary.
Preceding her in death were her parents; her husband, Robert LeeScott; two sisters, Barbara Sartin and Beverly Sartin; and threebrothers, C.W. Sartin, Frankie Carter and Johnny Carter.
Survivors include her three sons, James Earl Scott and his wife,Donna, of Fairmont, W.V., John Edward Scott and his wife, the Rev.Emma Scott, of Caseyville, and Ronnie Scott and his wife, Dianne,of Baytown, Texas; three daughters, Jean Delayne Liston, ofFlowood, Jeanett Scott, of Caseyville, and Carolyn Smith, ofShreveport, La.; 12 grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; twosisters, Thelma Winfrey, of Philadelphia, Pa., and Burnella Rucks,of Tacoma, Wash.; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relativesand friends.
