Copiah Colonels spoil homecoming

JACKSON — The Copiah Academy Colonels spoiled homecoming forHillcrest Christian Friday night with a 43-21 win over the Cougarsin non-district football action.
Copiah improved to 4-1 on the season and remains 0-1 in District4-AA play. Hillcrest Christian fell to 2-3 overall and is 0-1 inDistrict 2-AAA (Division 2) play.
“We played pretty good offense,” said Copiah first-year headcoach Scotty Cline. “Our offense has scored 68 points in the lastthe games. The defense has got to get better.”
Hunter Greer scored his first of 3 touchdowns in the firstquarter on a 49-yard pass-play from quarterback Daniel Sims.Richard Henley kicked his first of 4 extra points to give Copiah anearly 7-0 lead.
Hillcrest tied the game at 7-all near the end of the firstquarter.
