Services for Willard Coke, of Brookhaven, are 10 a.m. Friday,Aug. 17, at Riverwood Family Funeral Service Chapel with burial inMt. Moriah Baptist Church Cemetery in Brookhaven.

Visitation is Thursday from 6 until 9 p.m. at the funeralhome.

Mr. Coke, 82, died Aug. 14, 2007, at King’s Daughters MedicalCenter. He was born on Aug. 11, 1925, to Bolivar Coke Sr. and EmmaJordan Coke.

He was a lifetime member of the American Legion.

Preceding him in death were his parents; his wife, FlorenceBoone Coke; and his brother, Bolivar “Bob” Coke.

Survivors are his sons, Pierce Dean Coke and Don Coke; hisdaughter, Emily Hoeniges; his brothers, Ralph Lynn Coke and CharlesCoke; his sisters, Prudence Parnell and Marguerite Allen; and hiseight grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.

Mary Catherine Shurden

Services for Mary Catherine Shurden, of Brandon, are 10 a.m.Friday, Aug. 17, at Baldwin-Lee Funeral Home in Pearl, with burialin Brandon Memorial Gardens.

Visitation is Thursday from 5 until 8 p.m. at the funeralhome.

Mrs. Shurden, 65, died Aug. 14, 2007, at Rankin Medical Centerin Brandon. She was born in Wesson on Aug. 6, 1942, to Jesse andEva Dell Sanders.

Preceding her in death were her parents and her husband,Prinston Shurden.

Survivors are her sisters, Helen Nevels, Linda Thompson andYvonne Smith; and her brothers Jimmy Sanders, Ray Sanders andWarren Sanders.
