Unbeaten Lady ‘Cats roar past Enterprise

BOGUE CHITTO — Like the heat index, Bogue Chitto’s Lady ‘Catssizzled at the plate Monday, whipping rival Enterprise 10-0 in sixinnings. Coach Scott Leggett was delighted to see his ‘Cats cash in17 hits as they remained undefeated in five games.
“We’re hitting the ball well,” said Leggett, after thesweat-soaked division contest was played in 100-degree heat. “Wehave to keep this momentum going.
“Our defense is playing well, along with our pitching. I’m veryproud of our effort.”
Blaine Myers (3-0) pitched the win. She neither walked norstruck out any of the Lady Yellow Jackets, holding them to 6hits.
Nichole Sandifer absorbed the loss. She fanned 1 batter andwalked 1.
At the plate, Kelli Howard powered Bogue Chitto with a triple, adouble and a single as the ‘Cats took a 4-0 lead in the bottom ofthe first. They led 8-zip after 4 frames.
Darcy Miller and Caitlin Owen stayed busy on the base paths,collecting 3 hits apiece for BC. Shaquille Burton doubled andsingled. Two hits were obtained by Jessie Miller and AmandaOwen.
Enterprise, coached by Steve Sasser, got 2 singles from LacyOrr.
In the JV game, Bogue Chitto posted a 5-4 win,plating 5 runs in the second. Toy Smith was the winningpitcher.
Two singles by Holly Miller paced the ‘Cats. Haley Estesssingled.
Singles by Kaitlyn Moak, Chynna Coghlan, Hannah Russell, KelseyHux, Silent McElvane, Haley Crosby and Tyler Boyd led Enterprise’sattack.
Bogue Chitto entertains Wesson Thursday, starting at 5 p.m. withthe JV game. Enterprise hosts West Lincoln Thursday at 5 and 6p.m.
