Stan King wins AAA tourney

Stan King knocked off Legacy 10-7 Thursday night in thechampionship game of the Lincoln Coutny Yourth Sports AAA BaseballLeague Tournament at Keystone Field.
“The kids played a great game,” said Stan King coach David Hurt.”My kids played great all year. We managed to go 5-0 in thetournament. My kids fought hard.” Assisting Hurt were ShannonRoberts and Jeff Michel.
Stan King led 6-0 when Legacy exploded for 4 runs in the top of thefourth to cut the deficit to 6-4. In the top of the fifth, Legacyadded 3 more runs to take a brief 7-6 lead over Stan King.
Stan King collected 4 runs in the bottom of the fifth to take a10-7 lead.
“Both teams played a good clean game,” said Legacy coach KeithDorman. “They got ahead and we could not catch up in the sixth. I’mproud of my kids not giving up. They hung in there until the end.”Assistant coaches include Billy Crozier, Michael Peavey, and GregHowell.
Austin Hurt got the win with 2 strikeouts and no walks in the sixthinning. Starter Collin Hurt fanned 11 batters and walked 3 through5 innings.
Absorbing the loss with 5 strikeouts and 3 walks, in relief sincethe third inning, was Conner Dorman. Starter Penn Wilson strikedout 4 and walked 4.
At the plate Stan King got a triple and a single from Collin Hurt.Lamar Lang doubled. Singling were Jacob Boyd, Jacob Bozeman andDaniel Clark.
Collin Hall directed Legacy with a pair of triples. Connor Dormantripled. Hitting safely were Wilson, Corbin Allen, Ben McCarrolland Triston Peavey.
