Shannon Earl Lawrence
Services for Shannon Earl Lawrence, of Ruth, are 2 p.m. Friday,June 15, at Shady Grove Baptist Church in Ruth with burial in thechurch cemetery. Riverwood Family Funeral Service is in charge ofarrangements.
Visitation is Thursday from 5 until 9 p.m. at the funeralhome.
Mr. Lawrence, 23, died June 13, 2007, in Lincoln County. He wasborn on Aug. 4, 1983, to Thomas Lawrence and Teresa McCueLawrence.
He was employed with Mapp Vacuum and Trucking of Brookhaven andwas an active member of the Ruth Volunteer Fire Department. He wasa member of Pleasant Hill Baptist Church in Bogue Chitto.
Survivors are his wife, Nicole Foshee Lawrence, of Ruth; hisdaughter, Cheyana Dawn Lawrence, of Ruth; his parents, ThomasLawrence and Teresa McCue Lawrence, both of Ruth; his sister,Kelsey Lawrence, of Ruth; and his grandparents, Earl and EarlineMcCue, of McComb, and Edwin and Lois Lawrence, of Ruth.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to assist with burialexpenses.
Edith Mae Smith Norton
Services for Edith Mae Smith Norton, of Brookhaven, are 4 p.m.Friday, June 15, at the Red Star Ward of the Church of Jesus Christof Latter Day Saints with burial in the church cemetery. BrookhavenFuneral Home on Natchez Drive is in charge of arrangements.
Visitation is Thursday from 4 until 9 p.m. at the funeral home,and on Friday at the church from 3 p.m. until the time of theservice.
Mrs. Norton, 86, died June 13, 2007, at King’s Daughters MedicalCenter. She was born in Lincoln County on March 1, 1921, toClarence Marshall Smith and Katie Maebelle Britt Smith.
She was a homemaker, a beautician, and a former seamstress withStahl-Urban. She was a faithful member of the Brookhaven Branch ofthe Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, where she servedin numerous positions. She was a member of the Demonstrators Cluband Garden Club and was very involved in family history andgenealogy.
Preceding her in death were her parents; her husband, ClydeWylie Norton; her brother, Talmadge Smith; and her granddaughter,Connie Smith.
Survivors are her sons, Clyde Gary Norton and Mark AndrewNorton, both of Brookhaven, and Dr. Timothy Wade Norton, ofHattiesburg; her daughter, Ramona Faye Norton Smith, of Pineville,La.; her brothers, Charles Marshall Smith and George EldridgeSmith, both of Brookhaven; her sisters, Margie Belle Wilcox andMary Francis Selman, both of Fullerton, Calif.; her 16grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren and onegreat-great-grandchild.
