Graveside services for Ruth Ellen Crawford East, of Brookhaven,are 4 p.m. Thursday, March 8, at Heuck’s Retreat Baptist ChurchCemetery. Brookhaven Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Visitation is Thursday from 2 until 3:30 p.m. at the funeralhome on North Jackson Street.

Mrs. East, 86, died March 6, 2007, at Haven Hall Health CareCenter. She was born in Lincoln County on Sept. 19, 1920, to JulianM. Crawford and Lillian Harrell Crawford.

She spent a number of years sitting with the sick and elderly.She was a member of Heuck’s Retreat Baptist Church.

Preceding her in death were her parents; and her husband, FloydC. East Jr., who died in 1969.

Survivors are her sisters, Frances Heaslip and Flora Robbins;and a number of nieces and nephews.
