Services for Billy Joe Johnson, of Magnolia, are 2 p.m.Wednesday, Feb. 7, at East Union Baptist Church in Magnolia withburial in Durham Cemetery in Magnolia. The Rev. Emon White willofficiate. Jones Family Funeral Services in McComb is in charge ofarrangements.
Visitation is Tuesday from 6 until 10 p.m. at the church, and onWednesday from 10 a.m. until the time of the service.
Mr. Johnson, 45, died Feb. 3, 2007. He was born in Bunkie, La.,on March 31, 1961.
He worked with McComb Rent All and was a veteran of the U.S.Army.
Mr. Johnson was always out making his rounds, visiting withfamily and friends with whom he loved spending time, just alwayslaughing and having a good time. He had a heart of gold and put asmile on the faces of everyone he knew, regardless if they wantedto smile or not. He loved the outdoors, hunting, fishing and ridingfourwheelers. To know him was to love him.
Preceding him in death were his maternal grandparents, Ellry andYvonne Brown, and his paternal grandparents, Casey and MarieJohnson.
Survivors are his father, James Lafayette Johnson and stepmotherSonya, of Magnolia; his mother, Helen May and stepfather Ronald, ofMagnolia; his son, Christopher Johnson, of Brookhaven; hisdaughter, Maria Johnson, of Summit; his brothers, Casey Johnson andwife Jan, of McComb, Jamie Johnson, and Albert May and wifeChristy, all of Magnolia; his sisters, Tammy Bailey and husbandWalley, of Magnolia, Chasity Brumfield and husband Bobby, ofJayess, Karen Moak and husband Clint, of Meridian, and EmilyBennett and husband Greg, of Brookhaven; his stepgrandmother,Lenora Johnson, of Magnolia; his grandchildren, Hayden and Haylea,of Summit; his 13 nephews and three nieces, who were very specialto him; and many other relatives and friends he loved verymuch.
Pallbearers are Aaron “Poppy” Lang, Dewayne Hughes Sr., DewayneHughes Jr., Andy Lewis, Billy Pinter and Joe Brekeen.
Honorary pallbearers are Lovell Roberts, Wallace Bailey, KyeKelley, Albert May, Bobby Brumfield, Robbie Boyd and Charles WayneFreeman.
