Colonels rally past PCS ‘Cats

GALLMAN — The Copiah Academy Colonels knocked off thePresbyterian Christian School Bobcats 33-26 for a homecomingvictory Friday night.
Coached by Mitch Mitchell, the Colonels improved to 3-3 on theseason and remain 1-1 in District 6-AA play.
“We had a good second half,” said Mitchell. “We played wellenough to get the win,”
Copiah overcame a 6-0 deficit when quarterback Daniel Simsconnected to Hunter Wilson for a 12-yard pass for the touchdown.Price Henley kicked the PAT to put the Colonels up 7-6.
PCS scored two more touchdowns to post a 19-7 lead over Copiahat halftime.
In the third quarter, the Colonels exploded for three touchdownsfor 25 points and a 33-19 lead. Sims scored on a 27-yard run and1-yard run. Matthew Wright scored on a 1-yard plunge and Alex Guessreturned a fumble 27 yards for the final TD. Henley kicked 2 PATs.A pass and run for two points failed.
Copiah Academy visits Hillcrest Christian Friday fornon-division action. The game kicks off at 7 p.m.
