The Bogue Chitto Bobcats bounced back with a key 42-6 Region4-1A win Friday night over the host West Lincoln Bears at PerryMiller Field.

Bogue Chitto improved to 3-3 overall and 3-1 in region play.West Lincoln remained winless in 6 games and are 0-4 in theregion.

“This was a good win for us after last week’s loss,” said BogueChitto head football coach Gareth Sartin. “We did a good joboffensively and defensively. We played a good game passing andrunning the ball tonight.

“West Lincoln is a good team,” added Sartin. “Coach Brooks Burnsis really turning the program around.”

Leading the Bobcats was Donyea Dillon with 6 rushes for 64yards. Byron Kersee rushed 8 times for 63 yards and a touchdown.Finishing with 4 carries for 11 yards and 2 TDs was Cole Laird.

“We played a good game,” said Burns. “We fought hard and playedhard. Bogue Chitto has a good team. They should finish 3rd or 4thin district.”

The Bears were led by Kevin Lofton with 10 carries for 44 yards.Rushing 6 times for 36 yards and a TD was Jamie Byrd. Lee Jones ran16 times for 23 yards.

Laird scored his pair of touchdowns on runs of 4 and 1-yard inthe first quarter. Kersee ran a 2-point conversion for a 14-0lead.

Bogue Chitto added 15 points to push the lead to 29-0.Quarterback Seth Avants hit Dantae Ratcliff for a 29-yard TD andKersee broke loose for a 30-yard score. Avants hits Perkins for a2-point conversion and Fred Tillman kicked the extra point.

In the third quarter, the Bobcats tacked on 13 more points toincrease their lead to 42-0. Avants connected with Addison for a20-yard TD followed by a 3-yard plunge by Robert Anderson. Ratcliffkicked the extra point.

The home side had something to cheer about when West Lincolnscored its only TD of the game at the 11:23 mark on a 9-yard run byJamie Byrd. The try for 2 points failed.

Avants completed 6 of 8 passes for 152 yards and was interceptedonce. Ratcliff caught 2 passes for 64 yards. Perkins had a catchfor 32 yards.

Defensively, Scotty Brown powered Bogue Chittowith 13 tackles. Making 9 stops was Kayouna Perkins. RobertAnderson finished with 8 tackles. Robert Lewis and Robert Bignerrecovered a fumble apiece. Intercepting a pass was BrianRobinson.

West Lincoln got 13 stops from Jones. Kolby Burris made 11stops. Josh Reno intercepted a pass for the Bears.
