Services for Ira Westbrook Nettles, of Covington, La., are 11:30a.m. Wednesday, July 19 at Hartman Funeral Home of McComb withburial in Nettles Family cemetery in Franklin County. Elder RandalMyers will officiate services.
Visitation is Wednesday from 9:30 until 11:30 a.m. at thefuneral home.
Mrs. Nettles, 85, died of heart failure July 17, 2006, atLakeview Hospital in Covington. She was born in Smithdale, AmiteCounty, on Dec. 15, 1920, to Albert Sidney and Birdie FlemingWestbrook.
She was a homemaker. She was a member of Oak Grove PrimitiveBaptist Church in Franklin County.
Preceding her in death were her parents; her husband, PrentissB. Nettles; her infant daughter Alice Virginia; her sisters,Breness Gill, Doris Myers and Maxine Nettles; and her brother,Ewell Westbrook.
Survivors are her sons, Charles Houston Nettles and his wife,Eleonore, of River Ridge, La., and Prentiss B. Nettles Jr. and hiswife, Rhetta, of Covington; her brother Joel S. Westbrook and hiswife, Eleanor, of Meadville; her sisters, Margie Williams, NaidaGill, Cornell Burke and her husband, Charles, Bobbie Calcote andWilma Martin and her husband, Bob; and three grandchildren, GrantNettles, Damon Nettles and Christen Nettles.
Pallbearers are Prentiss Nettles, C. Houston Nettles, GrantNettles, Damon Nettles, Clint Martin and Stewart Graffia.
